Teen Parent Social Services
What we do.
Teen Parent Unit
The Teen Parent Unit at James Cook High School provides dedicated support for māmā taiohi through an onsite social worker. Our social worker and support kaimahi work alongside māmā taiohi to help them access social, community, and health services. We also provide encouragement and guidance to support academic achievement and the development of safe parenting skills.
Community Services
Our Community Services extend support to māmā taiohi living in the community who need additional assistance engaging with various agencies. Through one-on-one guidance, our social worker and support kaimahi help māmā taiohi set and achieve goals for themselves and their pēpi, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to thrive.
