This past week, Aranga Early Childhood Centre came alive with the vibrant sounds, flavors, and traditions of Fiji as we celebrated Fiji Language Week!

Throughout the week, our tamariki immersed themselves in learning about Fijian culture, history, language, and traditions.

This past week, Aranga Early Childhood Centre came alive with the vibrant sounds, flavors, and traditions of Fiji as we celebrated Fiji Language Week!

We danced, sang, shared stories, and explored the beauty of Fiji through hands-on experiences. A special highlight was making and enjoying delicious Fijian kai together, bringing a taste of Fiji to our centre.

A heartfelt vinaka vakalevu to Whaea Lice for sharing her time, knowledge, and love for Fijian culture with us. We are especially grateful for the beautiful ibe (woven mat) she gifted, which will be treasured as a symbol of this special week.

To wrap up our celebrations, we gathered for a Fiji hākari (feast), sharing food, laughter, and the spirit of community. Events like these highlight the importance of embracing cultural diversity, helping our tamariki grow with understanding, respect, and a sense of belonging in the world.

🌺 Vinaka! We look forward to celebrating more cultures together! 🌺
